FEATURED DESTINATION
ANGELSEA, VICTORIA

Our last holiday as a new little family was in Angelsea, Victoria.

Being my first time camping I wanted to ease into it, so I chose the Big4 Anglesea caravan park.  I had heard the Big 4’s are great for younger children but we found Sophie and Nina also loved it.

The girls made friends with other kids and spent most of their time whizzing around on scooters or at the indoor swimming pool.

WHY CAMP AT ANGELSEA

  • The proximity is perfect from Melbourne.
  • The beaches are beautiful.
  • The children will be thoroughly entertained!
  • There are plenty of things to do and see in surrounding areas for day trips.

“Sophie and Nina have just stated surfing and the Anglesea front beach is a great place to learn.

The waves are big enough for them to have fun on but not too big that they are scared and get knocked off. “

says Jacinda.

ACTIVITIES IN ANGLESEA

We spent most of our days:

  • on the patrolled beach
  • swimming
  • surfing
  • and on the boogie boards.

In the evenings:

  • cooking dinner on the BBQ
  • games of Uno
  • and kangaroo spotting (yes, kangaroo’s are known the roam the caravan park when the lights go down!).

FOODIE TIP!

If you do visit Anglesea make sure you stop at Jums BBQ Chickens and order the chips and gravy. There will be a queue but trust me, it’s worth it!

IN THE MOOD FOR CAMPING?

Have you heard of Kids Adventure Outdoors (KAOS)?

It’s a weekend event that encourages children (and their parents) to get more active in the outdoors by introducing them to a bunch of fun activities that will have you running wild (and riding, and paddling, and fishing, and swinging…).

“It’s an adventure festival designed for families with kids aged from 3 to 13 years to explore and take part in an exciting range of outdoor and nature activities. Whether your child is already an adventurous nature buff wanting to explore more fun outdoor opportunities or a first timer to the inspiring world of the outdoors, you are welcome to join us on 8-9 April for a taste of awesome outdoor experiences amongst the breathtaking backdrop of Anglesea’s beaches, waterways and bush.”
