To state the obvious, we love the beach!
Our children have become quite accustomed to ‘slip, slop and slapping’ as we travel on holidays.
So that’s their skin taken care of, but why does my son Darcy’s blonde hair turn green every Summer? Does our hair need protection too?

It turns out we need to protect our hair from SUN AND WATER and there are plenty of products to do it. (Phew!)
This week, we went straight to the experts and met with uber luxe haircare brand Kérastase to find out how!

“Water is essential for the hair’s hydration, but water also amplifies the solar alteration of the hair and intensifies the power of the sun, allowing it to penetrate into the fibre, causing extreme damage.”
WHY IS MY SON’S BLONDE HAIR TURNING GREEN?
“It’s actually the copper in the water which becomes oxidised by Chlorine which leads to the green tint. UV rays further intensify the porosity of the hair making it more susceptible to absorbing chemicals.” Sandra says.
Well that makes more sense!
